Dr. Gift is passionate about helping others find success and purpose in life. In his job at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) he has mentored many post-doctoral students and led teams of fellow scientists in the development of risk assessments and risk assessment tools.
Jeff is also the co-owner of Gift & Wills Family, LLC, the entity that he and Brian Wills will be using to build Image Studios in support of their non-profit ministry. Their Sparrow Ministries will support single-parents, orphans and widows, answering the Biblical call to “look after the fatherless and the widows in their distress.”
Outside of his job Jeff spent several years coaching youth softball and teaching science as an adjunct professor at Wake Forest Theological College. He swam and ran track in college and has always been a sports fan. In the mid-60’s Jeff became an avid Detroit Lions football fan and San Francisco Giants baseball fan. In the early 80’s, he received a BS in Chemistry from William and Mary, started his career in chemical risk assessment as a Coast Guard Officer, and married Penny. He subsequently earned a PhD in Biochemistry from American University, joined the US Public Health Service, and was blessed with 3 children. He has been living in Durham, NC and working for the EPA since 1990.
