Sonya and Steve are a married couple who’ve been together for over 30 years and have lived in Chesapeake, VA for the last 13 years. Professionally they’ve each had successful careers in education and construction management respectively. Over the years they have enjoyed investing in multifamily real estate and oil & gas developments as both Limited and General Partners. Soon to be empty nesters, they are seeking a more flexible lifestyle that has high earnings potential combined with their interest in real estate and promoting the development of solopreneurs. Steve obtained his BS of Civil Engineering at The Citadel, The Military College of SC and functions as a project manager for a marine construction company for which he has been a shareholder for the last 18 years and an employee for 27 years. He served 8 years as a commissioned Engineer Officer in the US Army reserve component immediately following his graduation. When he’s not working he enjoys relaxing days on the beach or behind a BBQ smoker.
Sonya is currently a substitute teacher within the Catholic School System after serving as a full time Middle School Science Teacher’s Assistant at St. Matthews Catholic School for 8 years while her daughter was attending. Prior to this, Sonya has experience of being an Assistant Director of two different Preschool Centers exemplifying leadership, communication and interpersonal qualities with diverse personalities. Sonya’s nurturing nature and desire to help others plays well into the core mission of IMAGE in ensuring the beauty professionals that will to be successful and give them freedom they are ultimately pursuing as their own business owner. She enjoys retail therapy outings with their daughter, planning family vacations and relaxing on the beach!
