My name is Mumtahanah Jackson, and I am the creator of Shear Angel Hair & Makeup, created in December of 2012.
I was raised with a comb and a brush in my hand, and have always been attracted to fashion, glamour, and beauty. I don’t remember a time when I didn’t do hair. I started to seriously style and care for hair as a teenager in high school. My love for doing hair and applying makeup transformed with me during my life, from braiding hair in college for extra money, to being a part-time shampoo assistant on the weekends.
After doing hair for many years, in 2010 I began working with natural hair as more women stopped chemically relaxing their hair. After years of researching hair textures and types, I became an expert with caring for natural hair, as well as coloring, heat styling, extensions, and protective styling. The more I learned to understand natural hair, the more I became an expert in keeping relaxed hair healthy.
In 2018, I re-branded Shear Angel Hair to include makeup artistry for weddings, proms, special occasions, and photoshoots.
At Shear Angel Hair & Makeup Studio, I am passionate about healthy beautiful hair and skin, gorgeous natural makeup, and the overall happiness and well-being of my clients. I look forward to meeting you, and adding you to my client family.
