Hey! I’m Shy, the face behind The Shy Effect — your new go-to spot for results-driven skincare without the pressure or fluff.
My drive for all things beauty started young — I was obsessed with makeup early on, but over the years I realized that makeup only looks as good as the skin underneath it. That’s what sparked my passion, and it led me to attend The Spa School. I’ve been in the industry for 2 years now, earning an award for education and even working as an educator, helping train and mentor other estheticians.
I specialize in results-driven treatments such as facials & advanced chemical peels. Along with skincare, I specialize in bridal makeup, providing personalized, camera-ready looks for weddings and special events. Being part of such a meaningful day for my clients is truly an honor, and I pride myself on creating a stress-free, luxury experience from start to finish.
When I’m not in the salon, you can usually find me visiting local breweries, cheering at sports events, hitting the bike trails, or deep-diving into the latest skincare trends. I’m originally from a small town north of here called Bucyrus, and I’m married to my best friend, Zach. We’re fur parents too!
Fun fact: I can’t finish a meal without craving a sweet treat — it’s basically a rule at this point. Whether you’re a total newbie or a skincare junkie, I’m here to help you feel comfortable, confident, and cared for — shy or not.
